Building Ordinanc a a:) tltinued <br />(9) Whenever any wiring apparatus or fixture con- <br />ducting or using current: for lights, heat or power is found upon inspec- <br />tion by the Building. Official or one of his duly authorized assistants to be <br />especially or immediately hazardous to life or•property, the said Building <br />Official shall immediately open a switch or circuit breaker controlling <br />the supply of current to such wiring apparatus or fixture and post in.a <br />conspicuous place near such switch or circuit breaker a notice reading <br />as follows: <br />"NOTICE WIRING CONDEMNED" <br />'The use of electric current is prohibited <br />through this wiring or equipment until <br />proper repairs have been made and approved <br />by the County Building Official'. " <br />The Building Official must be notified when repairs are completed. After <br />such notice is posted, no person shall close the switch or circuit breaker or <br />use or attempt to use any current through such wiring apparatus or fixture <br />that has been condemned until necessary repairs have been made and <br />approved by the Building Official. The Building Official may also notify - <br />the person, firm or corporation furnishing current to such wiring apparatus <br />or fixture to disconnect the supply wires and cut off the current from <br />premises where such wiring apparatus or fixture is located and such supply <br />wire shall be disconnected and the current cut off until necessary repairs <br />are made and approved by the Building OfficiaL <br />(10) Any person, firm or corporation failing or refusing to <br />comply with any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a mis- <br />demeanor in the second degree and subject to fine or, imprisonment provided <br />by law. <br />Section 14. Reouirements Not Covered BS Code. Any require- <br />ment necessary for the safety of an existing or proposed electrical wiring <br />apparatus or equipment not specifically covered by this code shall be <br />determined by the Building Official subject to appeal to the Board of <br />Adjustments and Appeals. <br />Section 15. Liability. Any officer or employee, or member of the <br />Board of Adjustments and Appeals, charged with the enforcement of any of <br />the codes established by this ordinance, acting for the applicable governing <br />body in the discharge of his duties, shall not thereby render himself liable <br />personally for ordinary negligence, and he is hereby relieved from all <br />personal liability for ordinary negligence for any damage that may occur <br />to persons or property as a result of any act required or permitted in the <br />discharge of his duties. Any suit brought against any officer or employee <br />because of such act performed by him in the enforcement of any provision <br />of such codes shall be defended by the County Attorney (referred to in place <br />of Department of Law) until the final termination of the proceedings. <br />Section 16.
