SYSTEM ON A.' -.SOUND BASIS. <br />MR. YOUNG STATED THAT U.D.U. HAS HAD MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS, <br />BUT HE FEELS THAT HE WILL BE ABLE TO PUT THIS SYSTEM ON A <br />SOUND BASIS AND SHOULD BE GIVEN THAT CHANCE. HE ALSO REQUESTED <br />THAT THIS MEETING BE POSTPONED*UNTIL U.D.U.'S ATTORNEY, CHARLES <br />HERRING CAN BE PRESENT. <br />MR. YOUNG WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED <br />WITH THE SEWER SYSTEM , WHICH IS MAINLY THE FACT OF HAVING ONE <br />LIFT STATION AND THE LAW REQUIRES TWO, BUT EQPIPMENT FOR ANOTHER <br />LIFT STATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED AND IS WAITING TO BE IW TALLED. <br />CHAIRMAN Loy INFORMED 11R. YOUNG THAT U.D,U'S DIRECTORS <br />HAVE BEEN BEFORE THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REQUESTING THAT THE <br />COUNTY TAKE OVER THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS SYSTEM, <br />MR. YOUNG STATED THAT AT THAT TIME HE WAS IN FAVOR <br />OF THE COUNTY TAKING OVER THIS SYSTEM, BUT THE COUNTY DID <br />NOTHING ABOUT THIS AND HE DECIDED TO WORK AS A MANAGER TO CET <br />THIS SYSTEM ON A SOUND BASIS. <br />THE BOARD EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN F.H.A.'S PROPOSAL AS <br />PRESENTED BY ROBERT .JONES AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO U.D.U.'S <br />PROBLEMS AND THEY ENCOURAGED F.H.A. TO PROCEED WITH WHATEVER STEPS <br />ARE NECESSARY, <br />THE CHAIRMAN STATED THAT IT WILL BE IN THE BEST INTEREST <br />OF EVERYONE CONCERNED IF F.H.A., U.D.U. AND THE BOARD SIT DOWN AND <br />WORK THIS PROBLEM OUT. <br />MR, JONES STATED THAT THE FIRST STEP NOW IS FOR THE <br />COUNTY, F.H.A AND U.D.U'S ENGINEERS AND ATTORNEYS TO SCHEDULE A <br />MEETING. <br />THE CHAIRMAN STATED THAT OUR ENGINEERS AND ATTORNEY WILL <br />BE CONTACTED WHEN A MEETING IS SCHEDULED. <br />I <br />22 <br />AUG71974 Boor 2u Pac[349 <br />J <br />
