�5'P 251974 <br />r/ <br />� y � <br />L. S. "TOMMY" THOMAS, COUNTY COORDINATOR APPEARED <br />REQUESTING THE CHAIRMAN'S SIGNATURE ON THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICES PROJECT AGREEMENT. THIS AGREEMENT IS NECESSARY IN <br />ORDER TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM THE DIVISION OF HEALTH, THESE <br />FUNDS WOULD BE USED TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF AN AMBULANCE FOR <br />THE SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND AMBULANCE SQUAD. <br />THE COUNTY'S SHARE WOULD BE $6,750.00. <br />SIR. THOMAS STATED THAT HE WILL INVESTIGATE THE <br />POSSIBILITY OF USING FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS FOR THE <br />COUNTY'S SHARE. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE <br />CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROJECT <br />AGREEMENT, SUBJECT TO THE USE OF FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING <br />FUNDS BEING INVESTIGATED. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE <br />SIGNATURE OF THE CHAIRMAN ON THE APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDS .FROM THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE INDIAN RIVER COUNCIL <br />ON AGING AND THE INDIAN RIVER WELFARE DEPARTMENT. <br />MR. THOMAS REPORTED TO THE BOARD THAT THE STATE <br />OF FLORIDA HAS APPROVED THE STATEWIDE 911 EMERGENCY PHONE PLUMBER <br />SYSTEM AND THE STATE HAS FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR INSTALLING THIS <br />SERVICE THROUGH LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION. <br />THE COUNTY HAS BEEN ALLOCATED $17,589.00 WITH THE <br />BALANCE BEING PAID BY THE INCLUSION OF A 1% EXCISE TAX. THIS <br />WILL NOT MEAN A TAX INCREASE BECAUSE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT <br />IS REMOVING ITS 1% TAX. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE AP- <br />POINTMENT OF ALLAN MCCARTNEY TO THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ZONING <br />COMMISSION. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL'NOTIFY THE ZONING COMMISSION <br />AND VAL BRENNAN, PLANNING DIRECTOR OF THIS APPOINTMENT. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER FROM <br />-3- <br />I <br />
