C. L. GODDARD, SPECIAL DEPUTY SHERIFF AT THE OLD PLEASANT RIDGE <br />SCHOOL, STATING THAT THERE ARE MANY HAZARDS ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS <br />THAT NEED ATTENTION, AND HE IS REQUESTING THE COUNTY TO CORRECT <br />THESE CONDITIONS. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR QUESTIONED WHAT ARRANGEMENTS HAD BEEN <br />MADE WITH THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL REGARDING THIS MAINTENANCE. <br />ATTORNEY BURCH STATED THAT THERE IS A WRITTEN AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL AND THIS <br />WOULD HAVE TO BE CHECKED. --- <br />ATTORNEY BURCH WILL CHECK THE AGREEMENT AND REPORT BACK <br />s' TO THE BOARD. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A REQUEST FROM <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REGARDING PUTTING UP SIGNS ALONG STATE ROAD <br />AIA THAT STATE "DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN THE CAR". <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR HAD CONTACTED THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE SIGNS OF THIS <br />TYPE, BUT HAD NO OBJECTION TO THE COUNTY PURCHASING THE SIGNS <br />AND INSTALLING THEM. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL THESE SIGNS. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />DRITENBAS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED A TYPICAL SECTION FOR <br />THE DESIGN Of BARBER AVENUE AND INDIAN RIVER BLVD. THAT WAS SUBMITTED <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION . <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR REPORTED TO THE BOARD ON WORK THE <br />COUNTY FORCES HAVE DONE ON HEAVILY TRAVELED CITRUS ROAD, BETWEEN <br />KINGS HIGHWAY AND RANGELINE ROAD. HE STATED THAT A TYPE TWO ASPHALT <br />WEARING SURFACE WAS PUT DOWN ON THIS THREE MILE SECTION AND WHEN <br />THIS WEARS DOWN THE COUNTY FORCES CAN GO IN AND BREAK THE ROAD UP, <br />ROLL IT AND THEN PUT DOWN ANOTHER 2 INCES OF TYPE TWO ASPHALT. <br />IF THIS METHOD PROVES ITSELF, IT COULD LEAD TO THE POSSIBILITY <br />OF DOING OTHER COUNTY ROADS. THIS WORK COST THE COUNTY $11,500. <br />PER MILE. <br />THE HOUR OF 9:30 O'CLOCK A.M.
