• <br />THE BOARD THANKED THE VERO BEACH CIVIC ASSOCIATION AND THE CHAMBER <br />OF COMMERCE FOR THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE. <br />THE CHAIRMAN STATED THAT THE BOARD WILL AWAIT THE CHAMBERS REPORT <br />AND RECOMMENDATIONS AND THEN A WORKSHOP WILL BE SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS <br />THE DETAILS MORE THOROUGHLY, <br />ATTORNEY BURCH LEFT THE MEETING. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA <br />REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL AND THE VERO.BEACH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REGARDING THE STATE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT <br />PROGRAM. A CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE IS TO BE ORGANIZED TO <br />REPRESENT INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ON COASTAL ZONE PLANNING. <br />_ I <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT WAS OPPOSED TO APPOINTING A COMMITTEE AND <br />STRONGLY OBJECTED TO ARTICLE 11 OF THE AGREEMENT. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER STATED THAT HE WOULD GO ALONG WITH ARTICLE <br />11, BUT IT WOULD BE UNDER PROTEST. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY QUESTIONED WHERE THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA PLANNING <br />COUNCIL GOT THE STATUTORY AUTHORITY TO CREATE AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />AND STATED THAT SHE WOULD ASK THAT QUESTION OF THE INDIAN RIVER. COUNTY <br />LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION AT THEIR MEETING SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 31, 1975.. <br />JACK HOCKMAN, COUNTY FINANCE OFFICER GAVE A STATUS REPORT ON STATE <br />REVENUE SHARING. HE STATED THAT AT BUDGET TIME, STATE REVENUE SHARING <br />WAS INCLUDED IN OUR BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $348,000.00, WHICH WAS <br />DIVIDED INTO THREE FUNDS AS FOLLOWS: <br />$252,000.00.- ROAD AND BRIDGE FUND <br />48,000.00 - GENERAL FUND <br />48,000.00 - FINE AND FORFEITURE FUND. <br />AT THAT TIME THE STATE PROJECTED THE COUNTY'S SHARE TO BE <br />APPROXIMATELY $390,000.000, BUT NOW THE STATE HAS REVISED ITS <br />PROJECTION AND WE CAN EXPECT TO BE, AT BEST $108,000.00 SHORT AND <br />AT THE WORST $128,000.00 SHORT. <br />MR. HOCKMAN STATED THAT STATE REVENUE SHARING FUNDS ARE COMPRISED <br />OF CIGARETTE TAX) AUTOMOBILE ROAD TAX; AND INTANGIBLE TAXES.
