THF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER FROM <br />DUKE S. KIMBROUGH WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING THE <br />RURAL HIGHWAY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. MR, KIMBROUGH <br />HAS STATED THAT WITH THE BUS STUDY OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMPLETED THAT <br />IT WOULD BE FEASIBLE TO MAKE APPLICATION UNDER THIS PROGRAM. HE CONTINUED <br />THAT, UNFORTUNATELY, THERE ARE NO FUNDS.AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME, BUT POSSI- <br />BLY SOME FUNDING WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER JULY 1ST, 1975, <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT ON JULY 12, 1972 THE COUNTY, <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AND THE CITY OF VERO BEACH ENTERED <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL CITY MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO DO A <br />FEASIBILITY STUDY OF TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />AFTER DISCUSSION, IT WAS THE BOARD'S DECISION TO WRITE MR, <br />KIMBROUGH AND TELL HIM THAT AS SOON AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO CONTACT US <br />AGAIN. <br />DONALD ADAMS, BUILDING DIRECTOR, APPEARED REGARDING THE OLD <br />GRANT BUILDING THAT IS UP FOR SALE AND WHICH MEMBERS OF THE BOARD REVIEWED. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE USES OF THE BUILDING AND MR. ADAMS' <br />STATED THAT HE WILL INFORM THE BOARD BY LETTER OF WHAT IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE <br />NECESSARY TO BRING THIS BUILDING UP TO CODE. THIS LETTER CAN THEN BE <br />FORWARDED TO THE OWNERS OF THE BUILDING. AT THAT TIME IT COULD BE ASKED <br />IF THE OWNERS WILL SELL THIS BUILDING AT A LESSER PRICE AND THE COUNTY <br />DO THE WORK OF BRINGING IT UP TO BUILDING CODE. <br />CLIFF AND ANN REUTER, REAL ESTATE AGENTS, SUGGESTED THAT A <br />CONTRACT BE SIGNED TO HOLD THE BUILDING, <br />MR. ADAMS STATED THAT AFTER HE SUBMITS HIS RECOMMENDATIONS, HE <br />=WILL SUGGEST THAT A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS BY A CONSULTING ENGINEER BE DONE <br />OF CERTAIN AREAS. <br />160K .22 PAGE 352 <br />MAY 7 1975 <br />
