GEORGE MCKENNA, ASSISTANT COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR APPEARED AND <br />INFORMED THE BOARD THAT ALL REQUIREMENTS. HAVE BEEN MET AND FUNDS RECEIVED <br />FROM THE DIVISION OF HEALTH, JACKSONVILLE OFFICE, ON AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICE GRANT FOR AN AMBULANCE FOR THE SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPART- <br />MENT AN AMBULANCE SQUAD. THIS MONEY, $10,000.00, MUST BE EXPENDED WITHIN <br />THREE MONTHS AND MR. MCKENNA IS REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO ORDER AN <br />AMBULANCE AND ALSO APPROVAL TO PURCHASE A MOBILE TWO-WAY RADIO. <br />MR. MCKENNA STATED THAT THE STATE ADVERTISED FOR BIDS FOR MEDICAL <br />EQUIPMENT AND TWO COMPANIES WERE AWARDED THE BID. THE STATE IS REQUESTING <br />ALL COUNTIES TO ORDER AMBULANCES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM THESE <br />COMPANIES. HE CONTINUED THAT THE COUNTY WILL ORDER... THIS EQUIPMENT FROM <br />MODULAR AMBULANCE CORPORATION AT A TOTAL COST FOR THE AMBULANC)NLY OF <br />$10,979.42. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />ORDER AN AMBULANCE AND A MOBILE TWO-WAY RADIO, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL:,BY THE <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FOR THE RADIO. <br />THE STATE HAS FUNDED $10,000.00 AND THE COST OF THE AMBULANCE <br />WILL BE APPROXIMATELY $6,500.00 TO THE COUNTY, PLUS THE COST OF THE RADIO <br />EQUIPMENT, LEAVING A BALANCE OF APPROXIMATELY $3,500.00. <br />MR. THOMAS STATED THAT THERE IS A NEED FOR A "JAWS OF LIFE" <br />IN THE NEW FIRE STATION IN SEBASTIAN. <br />IT WAS THE OPINION OF THE BOARD THAT THE BALANCE OF THIS $1O,I L, <br />BE RETURNED TO THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND A NEW APPLICATION BE <br />FILED FOR ANOTHER PIECE OF EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE APPLICATIONS OF JACK D.
