DON WILCOX APPEARED AND STATED HF WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS <br />HIMSELF TO A SPECIFIC AREA OF THE PLAN - A STRETCH OF LAND ON THE <br />BEACH, SOUTH OF THE CITY LIMITS TO THE COUNTY LINE, WHICH IS ON THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE MAP AS RESIDENTIAL, EXCEPT FOR EXISTING MEDIUM <br />DENSITY IN THE MOORINGS. <br />MR, WILCOX REQUESTED THAT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CONSIDER <br />ADOPTION OF THE LAND USE PLAN EXCLUDING THIS SOUTH BEACH AREA AND THAT <br />AN EXTENSIVE STUDY OF THIS AREA FOR DEVELOPMENT BE MADE. '"HEN THIS <br />IS DONE, THE PLAN CAN COME BACK FOR ADOPTION OF THAT PORTION OF THE <br />PLAN. HE FEELS WHEN THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN IS ADOPTED, IT <br />SHOULD BE FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTY, INCLUDING THE SOUTH BEACH AREA, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT AGREED AND ASKED IF IT WOULD BE A REASON- <br />ABLE APPROACH TO ADOPT THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN WITH THE PROVISION <br />THAT THERE BE AN ItM1EDIATE RESTUDY OF THE SOUTH BEACH AREA, <br />MR, WILCOX STATED HE FELT THAT IS REASONABLE, AND HE WOULD <br />HAVE NO OBJECTIONS, <br />CHAIRMAN LOY ASKED IF THIS REQUEST WAS MADE TO THE ZONING <br />COMMISSION FOR CONSIDERATION, <br />MR. WILCOX ANSWERED THAT IT WAS, <br />TOM JONES APPEARED AND EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT PROPERTY HE <br />OWNS LOCATED AT THE SOUTH COUNTY LINE NEAR INTERSTATE 95 WHICH WAS IN <br />AN AGRICULTURAL AREA AND NOW ON THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN IS IN <br />A CONSERVATION AREA. <br />MR, BRENNAN STATED THAT THIS WAS DONE BY AERIAL MAPS, AND IT <br />WAS DETERMINED THAT THIS AREA IS NOT SUITABLE FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOP- <br />MENT, THERE ARE OTHER AREAS IN AGRICULTURE THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR <br />DEVELOPMENT, THE EXISTING ZONING WOULD HOLD SO THAT IR, JONES CAN <br />DEVELOP THAT PROPERTY IN AGRICULTURE, BUT IF ANYONE WISHED TO GO IN <br />AND DEVELOP IT IN RESIDENTIAL, THERE WILL BE A RED FLAG WHICH MEANS TO <br />PROCEED WITH CAUTION, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT THIS CONSERVATION AREA SHOULD <br />BE IN AGRICULTURE. <br />17 <br />MAY 2 9 1975 <br />RooK -1140 <br />
