THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER FROM <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING A MAINTENANCE MAP OF A <br />STATE ROAD - QUAY DOCK ROAD - WIHICH SHOULD BE RECORDED AND PUT ON FILE. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE SIGNATURE OF THE CHAIRMAN ON <br />THE MAINTENANCE MAP ON QUAY DOCK ROAD, TO BE RECORDED. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER FROM <br />WILLIAM H. MCCLURE, SUPERINTENDENT, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, <br />AND ALSO FROM A PRIVATE CITIZEN/REQUESTING APPROVAL FROM THE COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS TO IMPROVE THE SURFACE OF BLUE CYPRESS ROAD OFF STATE ROAD <br />60. THIS ROAD IS THE ROUTE USED BY THE SCHOOL BUS AND THE CONDITION OF <br />'THE ROAD IS VERY BAD. JOE MIDDLETON, CARETAKER OF BLUE CYPRESS PARK DOES <br />GRADE THIS ROAD ON A REGULAR BASIS. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT WE HAVE HAD THIS REQUEST <br />BEFORE AND AT THAT TIME WE STATED THAT WITH THE ECONOMICS INVOLVED, <br />IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO PAVE THAT ROAD AT THAT TIME. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT WE ARE TALKING <br />ABOUT $50,000.00 TO CONSTRUCT THIS ROAD WITH A SOIL CEMENT BASE. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER STATED THAT THERE ARE MANY ROADS <br />THAT THE SCHOOL BUSES RUN ON THAT ARE NOT PAVED. <br />A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE COUNTY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ANSWER THE TWO LETTERS SAYING THAT IT IS A POTENTIAL <br />PROJECT FOR THE COUNTY, BUT AT THE PRESENT TIME IT IS COST PROHIBITIVE. <br />WHEN MONEY BECOMES AVAILABLE IT WILL BE CONSIDERED IN OUR LONG RANGE <br />PLANNING. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT WE HAVE A REQUEST <br />FROM HARRIS SANITATION REGARDING AN APPLICATION FOR A FRANCHISE <br />AND THEY ARE REQUESTING APPROVAL TO ADVERTISE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING. <br />THE APPLICATION IS IN ORDER AND READY FOR PUBLIC HEARING. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED ATTORNEY BURCH FOR A REPORT ON THE <br />STATUS OF ANDY'S SANITATION. <br />ATTORNEY BURCH STATED THAT AT THE £IAY 21ST, 1975 BOARD <br />MEETING HE WAS AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE A "CEASE AND DESIST" ORDER TO <br />THE MORRILL BROTHERS, WHICH HE HAS DONE. HE ALSO HAS WRITTEN A LETTER TO <br />THE PRESENT FRANCHISE HOLDER OF ANDY'S SANITATION, CHADWICK AND DORTON <br />WHO ARE THE LAST APPROVED HOLDERS OF THIS FRANCHISE.
