Original appointments may be made <br />for a lesser number of years so that the terms <br />of the said members shall be staggered. The c <br />governing body creating the commission is t <br />authorized to remove any member of the com- • <br />mission for cause after written notice and pub- s <br />lie hearing. Any vacancy occurring during the <br />unexpired term of office of any member shall be a <br />filled by the governing body concerned for the s <br />remainder of the term. Such vacancy shall be a <br />filled within thirty days after the vacancy c <br />occurs. <br />(3) OFFICERS.
