1. The area to be covered by the agreement between U.D.B. and the <br />Lounty should be the existing U.D.U. franchise urea. <br />2. The quantity of water to be supplied'to U.D.U. should be limited <br />to one-half million gallons per day as defined under the City - <br />County Tripartite Agreement for purchase of wholesale water. <br />This quantity of water is estimated to serve the.needs of 870 <br />existing and planned living units in the franchise area, plus <br />.some 350 living units which may be constructed in the future. <br />3. The formula for determining the cost to U.D.U. for wholesale <br />water should be identical to that provided for the City -County <br />Tripartite Agreement. It is also suggested that the City and <br />County attorneys should examine the Tripartite Agreement to <br />define the cost items which the City may include in computing <br />the wholesale water cost to the County. • <br />4. U.D.U.'s application fora grant and loan to finance the pro- <br />ject has been submitted to the FBA Finance Department for <br />approval. Formal approval of the grant and loan is expected <br />About the middle of July. <br />5. Assuming no undue delays, the water program can be completed <br />and placed in operation in January of 1976. A list of the <br />necessary procedural items follows: <br />a. Obtain project funding committment from FHA. <br />b. Prepare and. execute a contract between the County and <br />•U.D.U. and obtain FHA approval thereof. <br />iz <br />c. Execute the agreement between -the contract operator and <br />U.D.U. and obtain FHA approval thereof. <br />d. Obtain easement for pipeline across Airport. <br />e. Prepare construction drawings. <br />f. Provide formal notification to the City that the County <br />elects to activate the Tripartite Water Purchase Agree- <br />ment and obtain City approval of facility installation <br />at the City's Water Treatment Plant. <br />g. Obtain County approval of pipeline construction on <br />County rights-of-way. <br />h. Obtain Division of Health approval of construction <br />drawings. <br />i. 'Obtain FHA approval of construction drawings. <br />j. Advertise for and obtain bids on facility construction. <br />k. Award construction contract. <br />JUL 9 197 Pn23::.fi.r1 <br />
