<br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIR-
<br />ECTING THAT THE CITY OF VERO BEACH
<br />OFFER TO PROVIDE CERTAIN SERVICES
<br />TO THE COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER IN
<br />THE EVENT THE COUNTY ESTABLISHES A
<br />RECREATION PROGRAM.
<br />WHEREAS, the County of Indian River has under study the matter
<br />of the establishment of a County recreation program; and
<br />WHEREAS, the County has had little or no experience in recre-
<br />ation and does not have a staff with the experience and expertise in
<br />the planning, formulation, establishment, implementation and manage-
<br />ment of a recreation program or programs; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach has one of the finest recre-
<br />ation programs in the State of Florida, headed by an experienced Dir-
<br />ector, assisted by a qualified staff; and
<br />WHEREAS, if the County decides to develop an independent rec-
<br />reation program, the City could be of assistance in the planning,
<br />formulation, establishment, implementation and management thereof,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF VERO BEACIi
<br />'BY ITS COUNCIL ASSEMBLED AND'IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY AUTHORITY OF SAME
<br />THAT:
<br />SECTION I
<br />The City of Vero Beach's Department of Recreation is noted for
<br />the high quality of service provided in this community in all areas of
<br />recreation, having established with the full cooperation and participa-
<br />tion of City Council, programs for groups ranging from the youngest
<br />children to the oldest adults, making full use of the area's geography
<br />and topography, its seashores,.streams, rivers, lakes and ponds, its
<br />flora and fauna.
<br />SECTION II
<br />The City's experience could be of great value and advantage to
<br />the County of Indian River in the event the County undertakes a recre-
<br />ation program. i
