RESOLUTION NO. 2005-106 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br /> RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA APPROVING THE COUNTY' S LOCAL HURRICANE <br /> HOUSING RECOVERY PLAN FOR FY 2005-2006, 2006-2007 , AND 2007- <br /> 2008 . <br /> WHEREAS, Emergency Rule Chapter 67EROS-1 describes the State <br /> Hurricane Housing Recovery (HHR) Program and states that the <br /> principal objective of that program is to provide long term housing <br /> recovery and construction and increase the amount of affordable <br /> housing within the State of Florida; and <br /> WHEREAS, Many single family housing units, multi-family rental <br /> units, and mobile homes were destroyed or significantly damaged <br /> through the 2004 hurricanes; and <br /> WHEREAS, Rental rates and housing prices have increased to a <br /> level whereby many county residents cannot afford to buy or rent an <br /> affordable housing unit; and <br /> WHEREAS, The county is examining all possible ways to address <br /> the county' s housing need for extremely low, very low, low, and <br /> moderate income households within the county; and <br /> WHEREAS, The county' s proposed Hurricane Housing Recovery Plan <br /> adequately addresses the county' s hurricane housing needs; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 21, 2005, the Board of County Commissioners <br /> considered the county' s Local Hurricane Housing Recovery Plan; <br /> i <br /> 1 <br />
