RESOLUTION NO. 2009 — 28 <br />WHEREAS, the philosophy that the existing regulatory system is burdensome to <br />development and therefore should be relaxed, would have if implemented five (5) years <br />ago, created even a greater supply of developed or permitted property, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The Board opposes any and all efforts to weaken the growth management <br />laws of the State. <br />2. The Board opposes any and all efforts to weaken or eliminate the <br />Department of Community Affairs. <br />3. The Chairman is authorized to send letters to the legislative delegation <br />and to the Governor relaying this resolution and advocating against any and all <br />efforts to weaken the growth management laws of the state and any and all <br />attempts to weaken or eliminate the Department of Community Affairs. <br />4. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption. <br />5. Department of Community Affairs shall be authorized as the state land <br />planning agency and their funding will be fully restored. <br />z <br />
