RESOLUTION NO 2003-132 <br />3. TERM OF OFFICE. <br />The term of office for each member shall be two years. <br />4. POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Indian River County Parks and Recreation Committee shall have the power and <br />duty to: <br />a. Develop and improve facilities and promote cooperation and <br />coordination among the various county agencies; <br />b. Study existing facilities and programs. <br />c. Develop short range and long range plans for better use of <br />existing and future facilities and programs, and to study <br />acquisition of additional lands; <br />d. Help promote and develop cooperation and coordination among <br />county government, municipal government and the Indian River <br />County School Board; <br />e. Conduct public workshops to generate citizen ideas and interest <br />in recreation; <br />f. Help develop a master plan for county wide recreation; <br />g. <br />Develop a plan for allocation for funding among the various <br />municipalities in the county and provide alternative plans for <br />funding as appropriate; <br />h. Review the present use of school board properties and <br />recommend areas of improvement and methods to increase use; <br />i. Encourage those organizations and governmental entities which <br />have historically helped themselves. <br />5. ADVISORY STATUS. <br />The Indian River County Parks and Recreation Committee shall be advisory only <br />and the members shall serve without compensation. <br />2 <br />
