1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 133 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, RESTRUCTURING PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />WHEREAS, the delivery of public library services to the citizens of Indian River <br />County is an appropriate and worthwhile goal deserving of support by State and local <br />government, and <br />WHEREAS, the population of Indian River County has grown and is expected to <br />continue growing, requiring public Iibranes capable of serving a wide variety of citizens <br />and public needs; and <br />WHEREAS, there continues to be a great need for financial support for the <br />public library system; and <br />WHEREAS, it would be desirable and worthwhile to insure that planning and <br />actions with regard to the public library are conducted under citizen scrutiny with <br />accountability to the citizens of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the future delivery of high quality public library services to the <br />citizens of Indian River County will require planning and operation by qualified <br />individuals and a greater amount of funding than is presently available; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. ESTABLISHMENT. <br />The Indian River County Public Library Advisory Board is hereby reestablished and <br />restructured. This resolution repeals and replaces Resolution 2000-022, Resolution <br />86-104, Resolution 85-85 and Resolution 82-47. <br />2. MEMBERSHIP. <br />The Public Library Advisory Board shall be composed of nine voting members, each <br />residing in Indian River County, with membership as follows: <br />a. Five district members Each one of the County Commissioners shall <br />appoint a member of the Public Library Advisory Board. <br />b.
