• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-129 <br />d. The County Historian so designated by the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />3. TERM OF OFFICE. <br />The term of office for each member shall be two years. <br />4. POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Historic Resources Advisory Committee shall have the power and duty to: <br />a. Recommend formal identification or designation of significant historic <br />and/or archeological resources for application of the regulations <br />contained in this section and Chapter 933, Historic and Archeological <br />Resource Protection. <br />b. Recommend to the Board of County Commissioners the nomination of <br />historical resources to the National Register of Historical Places and/or <br />other authorized surveys or registers, including local registers. <br />c. Advise the Board of County Commissioners on all matters related to <br />historic preservation policy, including the use, administration and <br />maintenance of county -owned, historically designated sites and <br />structures. <br />d. Advise the Board of County . Commissioners on potential historic <br />resource acquisitions, and/or protection of privately owned historical <br />resources. <br />e. Review and make recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners concerning all proposed amendments to land <br />development regulations, Comprehensive Plan policies or building <br />codes as they apply to historic resources. <br />f. Investigate, review and recommend to the Board of County <br />Commissioners financial and technical assistance programs which serve <br />to further the historic preservation objectives of Indian River County. <br />Promote the public appreciation and awareness of historic resources <br />and their benefits to the county. <br />g. <br />h. Conduct investigations and make recommendations to the Board of <br />County Commissioners, as requested, pertaining to disputes or <br />undetermined delineations arising from the implementation of Chapter <br />933, Historic and Archeological Resource Protection, and/or any <br />decision which may potentially affect the historic resources of the <br />county. <br />2 <br />
