RESOLUTION NO. 2006-110 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF THE ROCKRIDGE <br />PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION. <br />WHEREAS, Rockridge is a residential neighborhood of longstanding in <br />Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, The Rockridge Property Owners Association has a long and <br />thoroughly documented history of requesting assistance with its drainage problems <br />from local and state agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, The Rockridge Drainage System is being impacted by <br />surrounding developments whose actions have compounded the area's flood problems; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, rebuilding from the hurricane devastations of 2004 has <br />engendered a rebirth of both the spirit of the Rockridge neighborhood and the <br />Rockridge Property Owners Association; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. It supports the efforts of the Rockridge Property Owners <br />Association to improve the Rockridge neighborhood. <br />2. It requests the Florida Department of Transportation immediately <br />clean, dredge and, henceforth, properly maintain the 16th Street ditch and it requests to <br />have the 16th Street Drainage Ditch/System reconnected to the 3rd Avenue Canal to <br />maintain positive flow of storm water. <br />3. It requests the City of Vero Beach and all other governmental <br />agencies to cease and desist from permitting any present or future developments <br />and/or industries from impeding, degrading or, in any way, burdening the Rockridge <br />Drainage System. <br />1 <br />F:\Attorney\Nancy\DOCS\RES\rockridge.doc <br />
