ENGINEER BEINDORF INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE AND ADMINISTRATOR <br />JENNINGS FOUND ANOTHER SITE WHICH DID NOT COME IN IN RESPONSE TO ANY OF <br />THE ADVERTISED REQUESTS; IT IS 160 ACRES OFF OF RANCH ROAD AND IS IN THE <br />VICINITY OF HERITAGE MOBILE NOME PARK AND NEAR THE HOLIDAY INN WEST AND <br />THE TRUCK STOP OUT NEAR I-95, IT IS ALSO NOT TOO FAR FROM THE LIFE FOR <br />YOUTH RETREAT. HE NOTED THAT GEOGRAPHICALLY THIS IS A GOOD LOCATION, <br />BUT IT IS SOMEWHAT SMALLER THAN THE RECOMMENDED SIZE AND TO EXPAND ANY WAY <br />YOU -WOULD GET INTO HIGHER ZONING, HE ALSO NOTED THAT A SANITARY LANDFILL <br />MUST BE LOCATED AT LEAST 1,000 FEET AWAY FROM ANY WELLS USED FOR PRIVATE <br />WATER SUPPLY. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT NOTED THAT ON SITE #8, YOU WOULD HAVE TO <br />STAY 1,000 FEET AWAY FROM THE PRISONS WATER SUPPLY, <br />MR. BEINDORF INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE BRADLEY ESTATE HAS IN— <br />DICATED THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO HAVE THEIR ADJACENT 40 ACRES TIED IN WITH <br />SITE #8. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT DISCUSSED THE COLE PROPERTY, NOT THE AREA <br />OFFERED, BUT A DTPFERENT PIECE.OF THE SAME PROPERTY, AND MR. BEINDORF NOTED <br />THAT THIS LAND IS ALMOST TOTALLY CLEARED AND HAS GOOD ACCESS. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT HE WOULD BE A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT <br />THE TAKING OF A PORTION OF A PIECE OF PROPERTY AS TO HOW IT WOULD AFFECT <br />THE BALANCE. THERE ARE ABOUT 700 ACRES IN THIS PIECE ALTOGETHER. <br />MR. BEINDORF POINTED OUT THAT THIS AREA MIGHT ALSO POSE A PROBLEM <br />WITH THE FAA AS TO THE FLIGHT PATTERN OF THE BIRDS LEAVING THE LANDFILL AND <br />RETURNING TO THEIR ROOSTING AREA IN THE RIVER, <br />PHILLIP DORRLER OF THE AIRPORT & DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AGREED <br />THAT THE FLIGHT TO THE ROOKERY FROM THIS AREA WOULD GO RIGHT THROUGH THE <br />AIRCRAFT PATTERN AND WOULD DEFINITELY CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE FAA. HE <br />INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE BIRDS DO NOT GENERALLY FLY OVER FOUR MILES <br />FROM THEIR NESTING PLACE TO A LANDFILL SO SITES #8 AND #9 SHOULD NOT PRE— <br />SENT ANY PROBLEM IN THIS REGARD. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE NOTED THAT SITE #9 MIGHT COST MORE BECAUSE OF <br />THE NECESSITY OF BUILDING ACCESS ROADS, BUT EVEN IF SITE #8 -COST LESS, IT <br />MIGHT BE MORE COSTLY IN THE LONG RUN BECAUSE OF THE LONG HAUL TO THAT <br />LOCATION. <br />0 <br />42 <br />JAN 191977 33� <br />pnn� 28 rA- <br />
