ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT, JUDGING BY COMPARABLE SALES, THE <br />COST OF THESE SITES COME OUT QUITE CLOSE, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR REMINDED THE BOARD THAT A MILE AND A HALF OF <br />ROAD, TWO BRIDGES AND CONDEMNATION FOR RIGHTS-OF-VIAY WOULD BE NEEDED TO <br />GET TO SITE #9, AND TO MEET OUR TIME SCHEDULE, WE WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO <br />CONTRACT SOME OF THE ROAD BUILDING WHICH WOULD BE EVEN MORE COSTLY, <br />DISCUSSION CONTINUED ON VARIOUS ALTERNATIVES, AND ADMINISTRATOR <br />KENNINGS INFORMED THE BOARD T4'4T THERE IS NOT ACTUALLY ALL THAT MUCH LAND <br />AVAILABLE IN THE COUNTY FOR A SANITARY LANDFILL THAT WOULD MEET ALL THE <br />REQUIREMENTS OF THE VARIOUS AGENCIES, <br />COMMISSIONER Loy POINTED OUT THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR AND MR. <br />BEINDORF HAVE SPENT MANY, MANY HOURS TRYING TO FIND ENOUGH SITES TO GIVE <br />US A CHOICE, AND WE DON T HAVE THE TIME OR THE STAFF TO SEARCH OUT ALL <br />THE GROUND IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, SHE NOTED THAT IT WOULD, THEREFORE, <br />APPEAR THAT THE TWO SITES SELECTED AT THE LAST MEETING WOULD STILL BE THE <br />BEST TV'0 AND THOUGH SITE 99 IS THE BEST IN REGARD TO LOCATION, IT IS THE <br />WORST WITH REGARD TO COST, <br />ADMINISTRATOR KENNINGS STATED THAT HE BOTH ADVERTISED AND ASKED <br />THE BOARD OF REALTORS TO TRY TO HELP FIND PROPERTY FOR THIS PURPOSE, AND <br />IF TIME WERE NO FACTOR, COULD POSSIBLY KEEP ON LOOKING, BUT WE DO NOT HAVE <br />THE TIME, <br />RICHARD DLNEY OF POST, BUCKLEY, SCHUH & JERNIGAN, NOTED THAT <br />THERE ARE ZONING PROBLEMS AROUND QUITE A FEW OF THE SITES PRESENTED, AND <br />THEY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MOVING INTO A RESIDENTIAL AREA, HE ALSO STATED <br />THAT IF YOU STAY ANYWHERE NEAR THE AIRPORT, THERE WILL" BE PROBLEMS WITH <br />THE BIRD HAZARD GROUP OF THE FAA. MR. 9LNEY SAID THEIR PREFERENCE WOULD <br />BE TO GO INTO AN AREA WHERE YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO CHANGE ZONING, HE RE- <br />ITERATED THAT TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE AS THE SITE MUST BE CLOSED BY JUNE 30TH, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE ASKED IF THE ADMINISTRATOR AND MR. BEINDORF FELT <br />THEY HAVE EXHAUSTED ALL POSSIBLE LOCATIONS IN THE COUNTY. <br />MR, BEINDORF STATED THAT WITHIN THE TIME FRAME THEY MUST WORK <br />WITH, HE BELIEVED THEY HAVE, AND NOTED THEY WERE HOPING TO GET THE SITE <br />SELECTION MADE TODAY IN ORDER TO PROCEED. <br />43 <br />i 9 X977 ` 28 339 <br />
