N <br />RESOLUTION 77-22 <br />WHEREAS, the Urban League of Palm Beach County, Inc., <br />by Resolution adopted January 26, 1977, has falsely accused <br />the Members of District Mental Health Board No. 9 of racism <br />and bigotry in the selection of an Executive Director for <br />said Board; and has requested the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee Counties <br />to reconsider their appointment to said Board; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears from subsequent information received <br />by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, that the Urban League of Palm Beach, County, Inc. <br />acted without full knowledge of its Board of Directors and <br />used"the name of Richard Jorandby, Public Defender for Palm <br />Beach County, without his knowledge or consent; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, has received copies of letters written <br />by Norman Wymbs, Chairman of the Mental Health Board No. 9, <br />Inc., and Robert E. Moultrie, President of the Urban League <br />of Palm Beach, County, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners, individually for Indian River <br />County, read with shock, Robert E. Moultrie's explanation <br />through his letter of February 18, 1977, that he did not bother <br />to read or study in detail the Resolution which he signed on <br />behalf of the Urban League of Palm Beach, County, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, on behalf of its citizenry and itself, is proud <br />of Commissioner William C. Wodtke, Jr. and the job he is <br />doing in representing Indian River County on Mental Health <br />Board District 9; and <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Wodtke is a very qualified <br />representative for Indian River County for the position he <br />holds on the District 9 Mental Health Board and Indian 'River <br />County is appreciative and well -satisfied with the re- <br />presentation it is receiving from William C.
