ASSISTANT COUNTY PLANNER, ROBERT BERG, DISPLAYED AN AERIAL OF <br />THE PROPERTY IN QUESTION AND NOTED THAT THE REQUESTED REZONING IS TO ALLOW <br />FOR A MINING OPERATION, HE CONTINUED THAT AT THE PUBLIC HEARING HELD BY <br />THE ZONING COMMISSION, IT WAS FELT BY 50% OF THE COMMISSION THAT I.T WAS <br />NOT NECESSARY TO REZONE.THIS PROPERTY INASMUCH AS THERE WAS AN EXISTING <br />OPERATION THERE WHICH HAS BEEN THERE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THEY HAD A 2/2 <br />VOTE AND DEEMED THE MOTION FAILED, MR, BERG STATED THAT THE PLANNING <br />STAFF RECOMMENDS THAT THE AREA OUTLINED IN RED BE REZONED TO AGRICULTURAL <br />DISTRICT WHICH WOULD MAKE THE MINING OPERATION CURRENT, HE POINTED OUT <br />THAT WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH POPULATION TO SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ZONING <br />WE ALREADY HAVE; AND HE DID NOT FEEL SUCH A REZONING TO AGRICULTURAL WOULD <br />DEPRIVE ANY INDUSTRIAL USER. MR. BERG NOTED THAT ONE OF THE CONDITIONS <br />OF MR, JENKINS RESUMING OPERATIONS WAS TO HAVE THIS PROPERTY REZONED TO <br />AGRICULTURAL, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT REZONING TO AGRICULTURAL BASED ON T- <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT WOULD BE CONSISTENT WITH THE <br />STIPULATION PREVIOUSLY FILED. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. THERE <br />WERE NONE, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER Loy, <br />t THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INFORMED MR, JENKINS THAT A DECISION WILL BE <br />-` MADE ON THIS REZONING REQUEST'AT THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 7TH. <br />THE HOUR OF Z;OO O'CLOCK P.M.
