ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ACCEPTED THE BID OF.INDIAN RIVER ELECTRIC, INC., IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $2,800 FOR INSTALLATION OF THE EMERGENCY GENERATOR AND AUTO- <br />MATIC SWITCH AT THE COUNTY JAIL; THE FUNDS TO COME FROM THE CONTINGENCY <br />ACCOUNT OF THE FINE AND FORFEITURE FUND; AND APPROVED THE FOLLOWING BUDGET <br />AMENDMENT: <br />ACCOUNT TITLE ACCOUNT No, INCREASE DECREASE <br />JAIL - EQUIPMENT 03-3322-402 $2,800 <br />RES. FOR CONTINGENCIES 03-9990-701 $2,800 <br />SHERIFF JOYCE NEXT INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE HAS HAD A BREAK- <br />DOWN MADE IN REGARD TO THE COST OF OPERATING THE CIVIL PROCESS DEPARTMENT, <br />AND IT IS COSTING THE TAXPAYERS OF THIS COUNTY $16,682.09 MORE THAN IS <br />OBTAINED FROM THE SURFEES CHARGED FOR SERVING CIVIL PAPERS. HE STATED <br />THAT THE LEGISLATURE HAS NOW CREATED A NEW SECTION IN THE STATUTES WHICH <br />ALLOWS COUNTY COMMISSIONS, AFTER PASSAGE OF THE PROPER ORDINANCE, TO <br />LEVY A DISCRETIONARY SURFEE IN ADDITION.TO THE AMOUNTS PREVIOUSLY PERMITTED. <br />HE NOTED HE DID NOT FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A COST ITEM TO THE COUNTY. <br />THE BOARD AGREED THIS SHOULD NOT BE A BURDEN ON THE TAXPAYER; <br />DISCUSSED THE SUGGESTED INCREASE IN SURFEES AS SET OUT IN FORM SUPPLIED <br />BY THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION; AND ASKED SHERIFF JOYCE IF HE WISHED <br />TO COMPLY WITH THE SUGGESTED INCREASES. THE SHERIFF STATED THAT HE DID. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ATTORNEY TO DRAW UP AN IMPLE- <br />MENTING ORDINANCE SETTING UP NEW FEES FOR CIVIL PROCESSES. <br />JAMES BEINDORF, OF BEINDORF AND ASSOCIATES, INC., APPEARED <br />REPRESENTING JOE EARMAN, SR., IN REGARD TO TENTATIVE APPROVAL OF'GLENDALE <br />LAKES SUBDIVISION, UNIT 2. HE STATED THAT THE CHANGES SUGGESTED BY THE <br />SUBDIVISION REVIEW COMMITTEE HAVE BEEN MADE AND NOTED THAT 44TH COURT WILL <br />BE A CUL DE SAC AND NOT GO THROUGH TO CONNECT TO 45TH AVENUE. THE SQUARE <br />OF LAND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF 44TH COURT IS ALSO OWNED BY JOE EARMAN, SR, <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THIS SUBDIVISION <br />HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY THE SUBDIVISION REVIEW COMMITTEE, AND THEY RECOMMEND <br />IT BE APPROVED. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY GRANTED TENTATIVE APPROVAL TO GLENDALE LAKES <br />SUBDIVISION, UNIT 2, <br />C <br />SEP 2 11977 <br />BOOK <br />31 FK,r 8 <br />
