THE PHASE I WATER PROGRAM <br />A. <br />Description of Work <br />In November, 1976, the County applied to the Economic Development <br />Administration for grant assistance under P.L. 94-369, Sec. 107 and in <br />the amount of $697,000 to construct a treated water pumping station <br />at the City's water treatment plant and a 12" transmission line and <br />400,000 gallon elevated storage tank in the Gifford area. Treated <br />water was to be purchased from the City of Vero Beach under a City - <br />County Agreement dated January 11, 1973. Under the Agreement, the <br />County's allotment of water is 1,300,000 gallons per day of which <br />the County has about 765,000 gallons per day available for the Gif- <br />ford area. <br />denied, but in July, 1977, the <br />The original grant request was <br />County renewed its application to the EDA under its second round of <br />public works grants.
