RESOLUTION NO . 2011 - 059 <br /> attendance at the meeting , and agreed to consider and address concerns raised <br /> about the project at the June 7 , 2011 meeting ; and <br /> WHEREAS , on June 9 , 2011 , Commissioner Wesley Davis held a follow- <br /> up meeting with a group of concerned citizens , attended also by county staff and <br /> by the Executive Director of FIND , at which meeting issues of concern were <br /> discussed ; <br /> NOW , THEREFORE , be it resolved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners of Indian River County Florida that the Board hereby urges FIND , <br /> in the interest of public health , safety and welfare as it affects citizens residing <br /> near DMMA IR-2 and the general public , to : <br /> 1 . Continue to be open and transparent with the public in all <br /> aspects of undertaking its dredged materials management <br /> project in Indian River County . To ensure that the public is <br /> kept informed , the Board of County Commissioners requests <br /> that FIND make updated information regarding sediment <br /> sampling data , monitoring wells , archaeological studies , and <br /> other project permitting information accessible to the public <br /> through FIND ' s website ; and <br /> 2 . Be responsive to surrounding residents ' concerns regarding <br /> noise , dust , odor , traffic , and other potential project impacts . <br /> 3 . Maintain an open means of communication with area <br /> residents , particularly during constructing , dredging and <br /> dewatering phases of the project . In that regard , the Board <br /> recommends that FIND provide contact information ( cell <br /> phone number , email address ) for the IR -2 project managers <br /> from the Corps and FIND ; and <br /> 4 . Consider the recreation opportunities of the IR -2 site , and <br /> after completion of the initial dredge and management <br /> project in 2013 , make the Duck Point portion of the site <br /> available for public recreation access . <br /> The foregoing resolution was moved by Commissioner Davis <br /> and seconded by Commissioner Flescher and upon being put to <br /> a vote , the vote was as follows : <br /> Chairman Bob Solari Aye <br /> Vice Chairman Gary C .
