m <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE SUPERVISOR OF <br />ELECTIONS WISHES TO ATTEND THE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF SUPERVISORS OF <br />ELECTIONS ALONG WITH TWO PERSONS FROM HER OFFICE, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LAY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED OUT—OF—COUNTY TRAVEL FOR ROSEMARY <br />RICHEY, SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS, AND TWO PERSONS FROM HER OFFICE TO <br />ATTEND THE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS TO BE HELD <br />IN ORLANDO ON ,JANUARY 17, 18, 19 AND 20, 1978. <br />THE NEXT MATTER TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD WAS Al . ONING COMPLAINT <br />FILED BY .JESSE E. WASHBURN AGAINST LOIS CRUZE, OWNER OF GOLF ACRES <br />NURSERY. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE PROPERTY IN <br />QUESTION IS LOCATED NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF 43RD AVENUE AND ROUTE <br />60, RIGHT ACROSS FROM DODGERTOWN GOLF COURSE, THE COMPLAINANT'S PROPERTY <br />IS DIRECTLY TO THE WEST OF THIS PROPERTY, HE NOTED THAT THE OWNER OF THE <br />CRUZE PROPERTY IS ACTIVELY SELLING NURSERY PRODUCTS FROM PROPERTY LOCATED <br />IN R-2 ZONING, <br />DEWEY WALKER, ZONING DIRECTOR, STATED THAT THIS PROPERTY ORIGI— <br />NALLY WAS ZONED R-1, AND IN 1969 MRS, CRUZE PETITIONED FOR A CHANGE TO <br />R -2A, WHICH -WAS GRANTED, IN 1971, THE NEW ZONING REGULATIONS DID AWAY <br />WITH R -2A AND MADE IT R-2, WHICH ONLY ALLOWS "NON—COMMERCIAL NURSERIES <br />AND GREENHOUSES", ZONING DIRECTOR VIALKER NOTED THAT THE NURSERY ON THIS <br />PROPERTY HAS THE MERIT OF HAVING BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME, BUT IT HAS <br />NOW BECOME A COMMERCIAL OPERATION KNOWN AS GOLF ACRES NURSERY. THERE <br />ARE ALSO SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE TRAFFIC SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IN REGARD <br />TO PARKING, <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED AS TO WHETHER THE ZONING OF THIS PROPERTY <br />AT ANY TIME PERMITTED A COMMERCIAL NURSERY, AND MR. WALKER STATED THAT IT <br />DID NOT — ONLY AGRICULTURAL AND C -1A DISTRICTS ALLOW THIS. <br />ATTORNEY O'HEILL APPEARED REPRESENTING THE WASHBURNS AND CON— <br />TENDED THAT EVEN IF MRS. CRUZE COULD PROVE SHE HAD SOME PART OF A COMMER— <br />CIAL ENTERPRISE BACK IN 1967, THAT ENTERPRISE HAS NOW CHANGED SUBSTANTIALLY, <br />HE ASKED MR.
