THE BOARD THEN DISCUSSED WHETHER THIS COULD BE BUDGETED <br />FOR NEXT YEAR INSTEAD OF BEING DONE ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS, AND <br />COORDINATOR THOMAS POINTED OUT THAT GRANTS BECOME AVAILABLE AT <br />DIFFERENT TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND HAVE VARYING DEADLINES <br />WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO BUDGET FOR THIS CONTINGENCY, HE <br />NOTED THAT HE BELIEVES COMMISSIONER LOY FEELS THAT THIS IS A VERY <br />.MUCH NEEDED SERVICE, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INQUIRED ABOUT THE NECESSITY FOR A 15 <br />PASSENGER BUS, AND THE COORDINATOR AND ADMINISTRATOR EXPLAINED THAT IT <br />IS THE SMALLEST SIZE AVAILABLE THAT WILL SERVE THE PURPOSE AND <br />HAVE THE NEEDED REFINEMENTS, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE DELIVERY DATE <br />COULD BE A CONSIDERABLE LENGTH OF TIME, POSSIBLY EVEN A YEAR, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE ADDITIONAL <br />INFORMATION AS TO WHO WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE, INSURANCE, <br />OPERATING EXPENSES, ETC., AND ALSO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOMEONE FROM <br />ST. FRANCIS MANOR EXPLAIN HOW THEY WILL MAKE THE BUS AVAILABLE TO <br />ALL RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY, <br />THE CHAIRMAN STATED THAT HE FELT IT WOULD BE NECESSARY FOR <br />THE BOARD TO HAVE A WRITTEN CONTRACT WITH ST. FRANCIS MANOR COVERING <br />THESE POINTS, AND THE ATTORNEY AGREED. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INSTRUCTED .THE .INiERG-OVERNMENTAL COORDINATOR <br />TO ARRANGE FOR A MEMBER OF THE ST. FRANCIS MANOR BOARD TO COME BEFORE <br />THE BOARD TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMIS- <br />SIONER DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AGREED TO ADD TO TODAY'S AGENDA <br />AN EMERGENCY ITEM IN REGARD TO A COMMUNITY .AFFAIRS GRANT FOR THE SWIM <br />PROGRAM. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THAT HE RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT <br />THIS GRANT YESTERDAY AND THE DEADLINE FOR ANY ACTION ON IT IS FEB' <br />RUARY 28TH. <br />TERRENCE MARR, DIRECTOR OF THE YMCA, NOTED THAT LAST YEAR <br />THE COUNTY MADE A 50o MATCH ON A GRANT FOR THE SWIM PROGRAM, HALF <br />IN KIND AND HALF IN CASH.. HE CONTINUED THAT LAST FALL THE "Y° <br />APPLIED AGAIN, BUT SEVERAL OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTY ALSO <br />APPLIED SO THEY WITHDREW THEIR APPLICATION, THEREFORE, THE COUNTY <br />4 <br />FEB 2 2* 1979 met 34 wa 0 <br />
