m <br />NEEDED WHERE THE TOURIST COUNCIL CAN START TO GO OUT AND PRESENT <br />THIS TO THE PUBLIC <br />ON MOTION MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE ACTIONS <br />TO DATE OF THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL AND AUTHORIZED THE ATTORNEY <br />TO PLACE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE ORDINANCE AND TO WORK WITH THE <br />COUNCIL IN PUTTING THE BUDGET IN PROPER FORM. <br />THE BOARD THEREUPON RECESSED AT 12:00.NOON FOR LUNCH AND <br />RECONVENED AT 1:30 O'CLOCK P.M. WITH THE SAME MEMBERS PRESENT. <br />THE BOARD THEN PROCEEDED TO DISCUSS THE PROPOSED REZONING <br />OF PROPERTY ALONG S.R. 510 AND S.R. 512 IN THE VICINITY OF <br />SEBASTIAN MIDDLE/JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AS REQUESTED TO BY DALE SORENSEN <br />REPRESENTING GULF & WESTERN FOOD PRODUCTS CO. <br />MR. SORENSEN STATED THAT HE BELIEVES THIS PARTICULAR <br />PROPERTY IS RECOMMENDED TO BE REZONED FROM COMMERCIAL TO AGRICULTURAL <br />BY THE ZONING BOARD, AND STATED HE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEIR <br />PROPERTY REMOVED FROM THAT REZONING REQUEST AND LEFT AS IT IS. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER NOTED THAT THIS REZONING IS NOT <br />BEFORE THE BOARD AND BEING CONSIDERED TODAY., <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS THOUGHT THAT MR, SORENSEN HAD REQUESTED A <br />PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE ZONING BOARD FOR A ZONING CHANGE, AND MR, <br />SORENSEN STATED THAT WAS FOR A PIECE OF PROPERTY IN BACK OF THE <br />PROPERTY HE IS NOW DISCUSSING. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED IF THE PROPERTY IN QUESTION IS <br />INVOLVED IN THE ON—GOING PROJECT OF THE ZONING COMMISSION TO DO <br />AWAY WITH STRIP ZONING ALONG MAIN HIGHWAYS, AND MR. BERG STATED <br />THAT IT IS; THAT THIS IS BEING CHANGED'TO CONFORM TO THE MASTER <br />PLAN; AND THE PROCESS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ALMOST A YEAR. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS ASKED MR. SORENSEN IF HE BASICALLY IS <br />ASKING THE BOARD TO TELL THE ZONING COMMISSION TO "CALL OFF THE <br />DOGS. It <br />MR. SORENSEN STATED THAT BASICALLY THEY WANT TO KEEP THIS <br />PARTICULAR PIECE ZONED THE WAY IT IS.
