PLANNING REDICK AGREED THAT BY PUTTING R-1 IN A C-1 AREA <br />YOU COULD BE CREATING A POTENTIAL SITUATION OF CONFLICT. HE FELT <br />A LONG RANGE STUDY OF THE AREA WOULD BE IN ORDER, <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. <br />THERE WERE NOME. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMIS— <br />SIONER SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, TO DENY THE REQUESTED ZONING CHANGE TO R—IA <br />ON THE BASIS THAT THIS IS MEDIUM DENSITY SURROUNDED BY COMMERCIAL, <br />AND R—IA WOULD NOT BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE AREA, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT NOTED THAT HE ACTUALLY WOULD LIKE <br />THE PETITIONER TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WITHDRAW AND RESUBMIT <br />RATHER THAN JUST DENY THE REQUEST, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT THE PETITIONER COULD REAPPLY <br />DIRECTLY TO THE COUNTY COMMISSION WITHOUT HAVING TO GO THROUGH <br />THE WHOLE PROCESS, IF THE BOARD SO DESIRED. <br />a CHAIRMAN WODTKE EXPLAINED TO MR. ALTMAN THAT IF HE WITH— <br />DREW HIS REQUEST, THE BOARD WOULD GIVE HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME <br />DIRECTLY TO THE BOARD WITH HIS SECOND REQUEST. <br />MR. ALTMAN, STATED THAT, IN THIS EVENT, HE WOULD WITHDRAW <br />THE REQUEST MADE BY MR. & MRS. DETTORE FOR REZONING TO R -1A AND <br />WOULD READVERTISE AND REAPPLY TO THE BOARD FOR R 2B ZONING. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER WITHDREW HIS MOTION TO DENY THE <br />REZONING, AND COMMISSIONER SIEBERT WITHDREW HIS SECOND. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AGREED TO HEAR THE PETITION FOR <br />REZONING OF THE DETTORE PROPERTY DIRECTLY WITHOUT IT HAVING TO GO <br />BACK TO THE ZONING COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZED ADVERTISEMENT FOR <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING THE SUBJECT PROPERTY TO R -2B ON AUGUST 23, <br />1978, AT 2:00 P.M. <br />ATTORNEY WILLIAM CALDWELL CAME BEFORE THE BOARD REPRESENT— <br />ING PROPERTY OWNERS EAST OF WAB ASSO BRIDGE AND NORTH OF THE TOWN OF <br />64 <br />j <br />If <br />JUL 191978 <br />
