A brief discussion ensued whereby Commissioners O'Bryan and Wheeler <br />advocated for the 300' setback for excavation, while Vice Chairman Davis wanted to see a 150' <br />setback. <br />19. <br />Chairman Bowden called for comments on Recommendation No. 16, 17, 18, and <br />Commissioner O'Bryan required clarification on what would constitute a <br />significant setback on Recommendation No. 18, "Consider establishing a significant setback <br />between any excavation area.....", and Director Boling divulged that the setbacks in the <br />Comprehensive Plan were set at 1,000 feet. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan wanted to see the setbacks set at one-half (1/2) mile. <br />Commissioner Flescher believed that on Recommendation No. 19, "Require <br />submission of a comprehensive dust control plan... techniques thatrp event tracking material off- <br />site...", that it was unrealistic to prevent all tracking, and that the wording should be "reduce" <br />rather than "prevent." <br />paved. <br />Commissioner Wheeler wanted to see the public roads abutting mining operations <br />Chairman Bowden called for comments on Recommendation Nos. 20, 21, 22, 23, <br />and 24.
