ATTORNEY COLLINS POINTED OUT THAT THIS HEARING RELATES ONLY <br />TO SETTING THE MILLAGE FOR THE SOUTH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY MATER <br />MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT, AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS TAXING DISTRICT <br />WILL BE CONSIDERED AT A PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THE REGULAR <br />COMMISSION MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 1978, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INSTRUCTED ENGINEER BEINDORF TO PIN UP A <br />LARGE MAP OF THE TAXING DISTRICT IN QUESTION, AND HE THEN REVIEWED <br />IN DETAIL THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICT. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. <br />DAVID OGSBURY OF 515 27TH AVENUE ASKED HOW SOON THEY CAN <br />EXPECT SOMETHING TO DEVELOP FROM THIS TAX THEY WILL BE PAYING. HE <br />INDICATED THEY HAVE THEIR OWN WATER SUPPLY, AND THEY DON T WANT TO <br />CONNECT TO ;'IID -FLORIDA FOR ANY REASON. <br />CHAIRMAN 14ODTKE STATED THAT THE BOARD IS IN THE PROCESS <br />OF INVESTIGATING SUPPLIES OF WATER AND LOCATIONS FOR A TREATMENT <br />PLANT FOR THE SOUTHERN AREA OF THE COUNTY, BUT THEY DO NOT AT THIS <br />TIME HAVE THE INFORMATION NECESSARY TO DETERMINE A TIME SCHEDULE. <br />THE CHAIRMAN GAVE AS HIS ESTIMATE A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS, AND ASKED <br />ENGINEER BEINDORF FOR HIS PROJECTION. <br />MR. BEINDORF STATED THAT THE COUNTY HAS INSTRUCTED THE <br />ENGINEERS TO PROCEED WITH THE PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING PLANNING AND THE <br />SELECTION OF A WELLFIELD,TO DRILL TEST WELLS, AND TO COLLECT DATA AS <br />TO WATER QUANTITY AND FUALITY. HE INFORMED THOSE PRESENT THAT THE <br />BOARD IS FOLLOWING THROUGH ON A PROGRAM THEY PARTIALLY STARTED TWO <br />YEARS AGO. MR. BEINDORF STATED THAT THIS STUDY WOULD BE TYING INTO <br />A STUDY DONE IN 1973, AND THEY ARE UTILIZING THAT INFORMATION NOW. <br />HE ALSO ESTIMATED A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS PLUS TO GO THROUGH ALL THE <br />PERMITTING, CONSTRUCTION, ETC, <br />FLORENCE OGSBURY INFORMED THE BOARD THAT SHE HAS THREE <br />FLOW WELLS AND DOESN'T NEED ANY OTHER WATER, AND SHE DOES NOT SEE <br />WHY SHE SHOULD BE TAXED FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT GOING TO DO HER ANY <br />GOOD. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INFORMED MRS.
