FINANCE OFFICER BARTON REVIEWED A PROPOSED REVISED INVENTORY
PROCEDURE AND PASSED OUT PINK SLIPS TO BE USED FOR THIS PURPOSE. HE
NOTED THAT THESE SLIPS ARE INPUT DOCUMENTS THAT WILL BE USED TO UPDATE
THE MASTER COMPUTER RECORDS AND ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TURNED IN'WHEN ITEMS
ARE SHIFTED FROM ONE DEPARTMENT TO ANOTHER.
ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS AGREED WITH THE IDEA, BUT FELT THE
ENFORCEMENT PART IS DIFFICULT. HE NOTED THAT SIMILAR PLANS HAVE BEEN
TRIED BEFORE AND HAVE WORKED WELL FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME.
THE CHAIRMAN STATED THAT AS WE GET INTO THE HOSPITAL, IT WILL
BE A NECESSITY TO GET SOME KIND OF A WORKABLE SYSTEM TO TRACE THE
MOVEMENT OF COUNTY POSSESSIONS.
MR. BARTON POINTED OUT THAT THE HEAD OF A DEPARTMENT IS THE
CUSTODIAN OF THE EQUIPMENT IN THEIR DEPARTMENT, AND IT IS THEIR
RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP TRACK OF IT.
THE BOARD AGREED THAT THIS IS A BETTER SYSTEM THAN WE PRESENTLY
HAVE AND THERE IS A VERY REAL NEED FOR IT. IT WAS NOTED THAT THIS SHOULD
BE DISCUSSED WITH ALL DEPARTMENT HEADS AND CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS.
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT,
THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ACCEPTED THE REVISED INVENTORY PROCEDURE AS DE-
SCRIBED BY THE FINANCE OFFICER IN HIS MEMO OF OCTOBER 2, 1978, AND
AUTHORIZED THE ADMINISTRATOR IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PROPERTY CONTROL
OFFICER TO IMPLEMENT IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. $AID MEMO IS HEREBY MADE
A PART OF THE MINUTES.
4
0
7
_ra 07
OCT 18 1979
