PLAQUE OF RECOGNITION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND <br />SECURITY FEDERAL EMERGENCYMANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY'S PARTICIPATIONAND OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE <br />IN THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM COMMUNITYRATING <br />SYSTEM <br />Chairman Bowden displayed and read the Plaque, dated October 1, 2007, and <br />extended congratulations to everyone. Environmental and Code Enforcement Chief Roland <br />DeBlois and Community Development Director Bob Keating accepted the Plaque on behalf of <br />staff. Director Keating acknowledged several additional departments (besides Community <br />Development) that had worked to achieve the Class 6 rating, which qualifies residents for a 20% <br />discount on their policies. He divulged that the insured have reaped a total savings of almost $1 <br />million on flood insurance costs. <br />Chairman Bowden added that this would be an annual discount rating. <br />S.B.
