i <br />b <br />I <br />I� <br />REASONS SHOWN THAT THIS AREA SHOULD BE REDUCED. THE ACTION OF THE <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION WAS TO RECOMMEND THIS CHANGE IN THE MASTER <br />PLAN. THERE WAS ANOTHER HEARING HELD SUBSEQUENT TO THIS AT THE REQUEST <br />OF OWNERS OF PART OF THE PROPERTY THAT HAD BEEN ZONED COMMERCIAL, <br />REQUESTING THAT THAT AREA REMAIN IN COMMERCIAL LAND USE INSOFAR AS <br />} <br />THE PLAN WAS CONCERNED. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE PLANNING & ZONING <br />COMMISSION REAFFIRMED ITS ORIGINAL ACTION, MADE NO ADDITIONAL CHANGE, <br />AND THE RECOMMENDATION TO US TODAY IS AS SHOWN ON THE MAP. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. <br />C. E. YODER OF NORTH INDIAN RIVER DRIVE, SEBASTIAN, CAME <br />BEFORE THE BOARD. HE ASKED ABOUT THE 38 ACRES TURNED DOWN AT THE LAST <br />HEARING AND ASKED IF IT HAD BEEN CHANGED. <br />MR. REDICK STATED THAT IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING <br />& ZONING BOARD THAT IT BE ZONED MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL. <br />MR. YODER THEN TALKED ABOUT THE DENSITY AROUND ROSELAND IN <br />THE OLD TOWN ITSELF)EXCEPT POSSIBLY THE FIRST ROW OF HOUSES FACING <br />NORTH ON ROSELAND ROAD,AND STATED THAT IT ALWAYS WAS A QUIET RETIRED <br />SECTION AND IT IS BEING KEPT THAT WAY. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THE NORTH OF <br />ROSELAND ROAD IS LOW DENSITY EXCEPT THE INTERSECTION. <br />MR. YODER CONTINUED THAT WHEN'HE PUT THE SUBDIVISION BETWEEN <br />THE HOSPITAL AND THE RIVER EAST OF IT, ONE ACRE WAS REQUIRED TO BUILD <br />ON, AND THOSE PEOPLE WERE PLEASED WITH THE RESTRICTION, AND IT REMAINS <br />ON -THE RIVERFRONT PROPERTY. MR. YODER CONTINUED THAT HIS EFFORTS HAVE <br />BEEN TO MAINTAIN A LITTLE OF FLORIDA AS NEAR AS IT WAS WHEN HE CAME. <br />BYRON T. COOKSEY CAME BEFORE THE BOARD REPRESENTING HIMSELF <br />AND SOME FELLOW PROPERTY OWNERS; A GROUP OF PEOPLE INCLUDING HIMSELF, <br />MRS. HANSEN, DR. KELSO, RUTH BLUME, ETC. HE.STATED THEY OWN 30 ACRES <br />OF LAND JUST SOUTH OF ROSELAND WHERE IT MEETS U.S. I GOING TO THE <br />RIVER, ABOUT 1,200 FEET ON THE HIGHWAY. THEY ALSO OWN THE.6 ACRES <br />ADJACENT TO THE MEDICAL CENTER ON THE NORTH. HE NOTED THAT MRS. HANSEN <br />HAS BEEN A PROPERTY OWNER IN THE AREA FOR ABOUT SO YEARS AND OWNS 42 <br />LOTS IN THIS AREA AND OTHER COMMERCIAL PROPERTY. DR. L.
