6 <br />C <br />4. All animals obtained by the Society must remain in its <br />custody for a minimum of five days, unless such animal is diseased <br />or injured to such an extent that, in the Society's judgment, it <br />would be advisable to dispose of same prior to the five day period <br />or unlessthe provisions of Paragraph 9 of this agreement are <br />complied with in a shorter period to time, and provided Paragraph 6 <br />herein is not -applicable. If Paragraph 6 is applicable, its pro- <br />visions control. <br />S. In dete=iniiDg Vhen an animal should be disposed of in less <br />than the five day period stated above, the Society shall decide at <br />its own discretion whether or not to dispose of same.,., - <br />6. The Society shall become responsible for the care of the <br />animal after it has been delivered by the Impounding Officer or <br />Sheriff Deputy of the County to the shelter belonging to the Society,, <br />and the receipt for same has been issued to the Impounding Officer <br />by the Society and shall provide quarantine for animals that have <br />been reported to the Society to have bitten any person or other <br />animal or is otherwise suspected to being rabid. Notwithstanding <br />any other provisions in this agreement, such animal shall remain <br />in quarantine for at least ten (10) days and shall be professionally <br />examined before being released from quarantine at the end of the <br />ten (10) day period. Quarantine means placing the animal in its <br />own cage whereby it shall have no physical access to other animals <br />and said cage shall have a quarantine sign and a Health Department <br />Form affixed thereto. <br />7. In the event there are no Society personnel on duty when <br />the Impounding Officer or Sheriff Deputy of the County delivers, an <br />animal to the shelter, it shall be placed in a holding facility <br />on the property of the Society pending appropriate entry procedures, <br />and upon giving a receipt to the Impounding Officer showing proper <br />entry procedures have been followed, the Society shall become <br />responsible for such animal. <br />Nov 1 1978 <br />2 .- <br />s <br />f <br />
