The proposed 1979 Pre -Application is for a Comprehensive Project <br />to be called the "Lower End Rehabilitation Project". ,It is to be <br />generally bounded by U.S. Highway One (U.S.#l) on the west, 39th <br />Street on the north, 17th Avenue on the east and 37th Street on <br />the south, located in Gifford, Florida. <br />Rehabilitation $750,000 <br />Streets 33,048 <br />Park and Playground 11,000 <br />Yater.Service 83,000 <br />Relocation Assistance 36,000 <br />Code Enforcement 18,000 <br />Administration 138,000 <br />Planning 27,600 <br />Contingencies 110,265 <br />$1,212,913 <br />The total project is phased overa three year period with <br />the individual projects estimated as follows: <br />1979 Project .$312,300 <br />1980 Project 427,200 <br />1981 Project 473,413 - <br />$1,212,913 <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR REDICK CAME BEFORE THE BOARD AND REPEATED <br />THE PRESENTATION MADE AT THE lO:OO A.M. HEARING FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE <br />PRESENT THIS EVENING. HE EXPLAINED THE NEED TO SET UP A PROGRAM THAT <br />WILL OBTAIN THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF POINTS IN ORDER TO GET FUNDED, WHICH <br />WILL REQUIRE HAVING A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM AND A SINGLE TARGET AREA. <br />MR. REDICK REVIEWED THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE AREA CHOSEN FOR THE PROJECT <br />OUTLINED ABOVE AND STATED THAT THEY WILL EMPHASIZE REHABILITATION AND <br />HOUSING. HE FURTHER NOTED THAT THE APPLICATION IS GEARED TOWARDS A <br />THREE YEAR PROGRAM TO ELIMINATE THE NECESSITY OF GOING INTO COMPETITION <br />•,. FOR THESE FUNDS EVERY YEAR. HE EXPLAINED TO THOSE PRESENT THAT THIS <br />PARTICULAR AREA WAS CHOSEN BECAUSE, IN THE OPINION OF THE STAFF, IT OFFERS <br />THE BEST CHANCE OF BEING FUNDED: <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD.
