12.1. PUBLIC WORKS <br />12.1.1. APPROVAL OF BID AWARD FOR IRC BID No. 2010005 ANNUAL BID FOR <br />MAIN RELIEF CANAL POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY SEDIMENTATION <br />SYSTEM DREDGING <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner O'Bryan, to approve the <br />Bid Award to EMC, Inc. as the lowest and most <br />responsive bidder meeting the specifications as set forth in <br />the Invitation to Bid; to authorize the Public Works <br />Department to enter into a master agreement with an <br />option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions <br />subject to satisfactory performance, vendor acceptance, <br />and the determination that renewal of this annual bid is in <br />the best interest of Indian River County; and to approve <br />the Sample Agreement and authorize the Chairman to <br />execute said agreement after receipt and approval of the <br />required Certificate of Insurance, and after the County <br />Attorney has approved the agreement as to form and legal <br />sufficiency. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan asked whether the dredged material (sediment) that had already <br />piled up at the site was going to be hauled off, and Director Mora said it would be deposited at <br />the landfill. <br />Chairman Davis wondered whether an alternate use could be found for the sediment, and <br />Director Mora indicated that staff was open to suggestions. <br />34 <br />November 3, 2009 <br />
