MARY BRAY SHARP, CO-CHAIRMAN OF INDIAN RIVER DAYS FESTIVAL, <br />APPROACHED THE BOARD TO DISCUSS A PROCLAMATION AND THE EVENTS TO BE HELD <br />WITHIN THE COUNTY FROM MARCH 1-11, 1979. SHE THANKED THE COUNTY <br />COMMISSION,.ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS AND SHERIFF .JOYCE FOR THEIR HELP <br />LAST YEAR AND INFORMED THE BOARD THAT 30 EVENTS ARE PLANNED FOR THE SECOND <br />INDIAN RIVER DAYS FESTIVAL, AMONG THEM A STREET DANCE, "ANYTHING GOFS," <br />GO -TO -CHURCH -ON -SUNDAY, ETC. THE PURPOSE IS TO HAVE A COMMUNITY -WIDE <br />FESTIVAL FOR ALL AGES AND INCOME BRACKETS TO HAVE FUN AND NOT TO RAISE <br />MONEY. SHE REQUESTED THAT THE BOARD PROCLAIM MARCH 1 TO 11 AS INDIAN <br />RIVER DAYS FESTIVAL WEEK. MRS. SHARP CONTINUED THAT THE STREET DANCE WILL <br />BE HELD ON MARCH 3RD AT THE VERO MALL, AND THE UNITED WAY CAN PROCURE A <br />LIQUOR LICENSE TO SELL BEER AND WINE FOR ONE DAY; "ANYTHING, GOES" WILL <br />BE HELD AT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY RIDING CLUB ON KINGS HIGHWAY; AND A <br />BIG BAND DANCE IS TENTATIVELY PLANNED AT GULF STREAM LUMBER BUILDING. <br />SHE CONTINUED THAT FOR THE ABOVE MENTIONED EVENTS, SHE WOULD NEED THE <br />COUNTY'S APPROVAL AND THE AID OF THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. TWO CELEBRITIES <br />ARE COMING AND WILL NEED PROTECTION, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL BE HAPPY TO <br />ASSIST AND HE FELT SURE THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WOULD COOPERATE, HE <br />INSTRUCTED ATTORNEY COLLINS TO PREPARE A PROCLAMATION FOR INDIAN RIVER <br />DAYS FESTIVAL WEEK. <br />DANA HOWARD, ENGINEER, OF CARTER ASSOCIATES, INC., APPEARED <br />BEFORE THE BOARD TO OBTAIN FINAL APPROVAL OF DETTORE ACRES SUBDIVISION. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS STATED THAT HE FOUND THE PLAT IN ORDER <br />AND WOULD RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF DETTORE ACRES SUBDIVISION. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY GRANTED FINAL APPROVAL OF DETTORE ACRES <br />SUBDIVISION. <br />DEAN LUETHJE, OF CARTER ASSOCIATES, APPROACHED THE BOARD TO <br />DISCUSS THE UTILITY AND DRAINAGE EASEMENT PLAT FOR RIVERA ESTATES. THIS <br />WAS PLATTED AND RECORDED IN 1925, WHEN THE AREA WAS LOCATED WITHIN THE <br />CITY OF VERO BEACH. JOHN MAGUIRE HAS PURCHASED THE ENTIRE DEVELOPMENT, <br />ALL THE WAY TO RT. 60.
