Change Orders: <br />necessary to increase, decrease or cancel a purchase order. <br />'Change orders are issued by the Purchasing Office at the re- <br />quest of the originating department. All increases require <br />the approval of the originator. Some major increases may <br />also require the approval of the County Administrator. The., <br />.purchasing Agent may require the submission of additional <br />requisitions if, in his judgment, use of a change order <br />results in confusion or casts doubt on the legality of existing <br />purchase orders. <br />3-4 _ E <br />4a. Rotitine Purchase: Upon receipt of a completed and signed <br />requisition, the Purchasing Agent will complete the purchase <br />action in accordance with one of the following paragraphs: <br />(1) If:possible, three quotations will be obtained from <br />vendors who are known to furnish the desired item. <br />Vendors may be contacted by telephone, personal contact <br />or in writing. <br />(2) When received, the quotations will be entered on the <br />face of the requisition. <br />(3)• The Purchasing Agent may make the award to the lowest <br />responsible vend6r. <br />(4) A purchase order will -be prepared, using the quoted <br />- prices, and mailed to the vendor to consummate the <br />contract. <br />4b:- For purchases between $1,000.00 and $2,499.99 the Purchasing <br />Agent shall make every effort to obtain at least three <br />written quotes. If telephone quotes are received, then all <br />pertinent data must be recorded, i_e., name. address, tele- <br />phone number, date, time, etc. <br />4e. purchase of 52,500-00 or More: Purchases of $2,500.00 or <br />snore may be made by written, sealed bids. For Bid Guide- <br />lines, see section 2-2. <br />(1) After an award of.a bid has been made by the Board of <br />County commissioners, the Purchasing Agent will prepare <br />a purchase order.using the price quoted in the bid. <br />Approved 2/21/79 <br />MAR 7197939 <br />
