1 <br />0 <br />AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN OWNER AND ARCHITECT <br />FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this <br />day of 7&Aea(i , 1979, by and between INDIAN RIVER:COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, hereinafter referred to as <br />"OWNER", and CONNELL, METCALF & EDDY, INC., hereinafter <br />referred to as "ARCHITECT". <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the OWNER proposes to do certain work towards <br />the development of a Schematic Design for remodeling of the <br />old Indian River Memorial Hospital and existing Courthouse <br />structures; and <br />WHEREAS, the OWNER desires to engage the ARCHITECT to <br />perform certain professional services pertinent to such work <br />in accordance with this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the ARCHITECT desires to provide such pro- <br />fessional services in accordance with this Agreement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and the <br />mutual benefits which will accrue to the parties hereto in <br />carrying out the terms wof this Agreement, it is mutually <br />understood and agreed as follows: <br />I. GENERAL SCOPE OF THIS AGREEMENT <br />The relationship of the ARCHITECT to the OWNER will be <br />that of a professional consultant, and the ARCHITECT will <br />provide the professional and technical services required under <br />this Agreement in accordance with acceptable and best engineer- <br />ing, planning and architectural practices and ethical standards <br />of .the trade. <br />II. PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SERVICES <br />It shall be the responsibility of the ARCHITECT to work <br />with the OWNER and apprise it of solutions to engineering and <br />architectural problems and the approach or technique to be <br />used towards accomplishment of the OWNER'S objectives.
