<br />Chairman Ginn was concerned about setting a precedent. She felt we need to get the <br />industrial park up and running and then the businesses will come. She complimented staff for the <br />exceptional presentation. <br />Commissioner Lowther said he ran his campaign trying to bring clean industry to Indian <br />River County and he believed we need to move forward. <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lowther, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Neuberger, to adopt <br />Ordinance 2004-005 with a provision to sunset the 80’ <br />height exception if not utilized prior to February 10, 2006. <br /> <br />Discussion continued. <br /> <br />Chairman Ginn understood they were opening up to tractor trailers 24 hours a day at that <br />intersection. She appreciated Commissioner Macht’s arguments, but felt that human misery is <br />found across the social spectrum and she believes some people bring it on themselves. She firmly <br />believes if they put roads and sewer and water in the park, businesses will come to Indian River <br />County. She said that we do have economic development in the county, but it is hidden. <br /> <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried by a 4-1 vote (Chairman Ginn opposed). (The <br />Board adopted Ordinance 2004-005 regarding a West <br />County Industrial Park Height Exception amending Section <br />911.15(1) of the Land Development Regulations, allowing <br />portions of industrial and warehouse distribution buildings <br />to a height of up to 80 feet on sites located within large <br />industrial parks located west of I-95; and providing for <br />repeal of conflicting provisions, codification, severability <br />February 10, 2004 <br />16 <br /> <br />
