Whitfield, Doretha <br />McGriff, Fred Plair, Robert "Jake" Taylor, Larry Staley, Lawrence Trap, Teri Lynn Moody, <br />Venda Rhea Burgess, and Earthine Plair). <br />Larry Staley, a 26 -year employee of the Indian River County Recreation <br />Department, talked about his experiences and thanked everyone for the opportunity to serve the <br />community. <br />Deputy Teddy Floyd thanked the Commissioners for their acknowledgement of <br />the African American pioneers, and said that everyone would work together on behalf of all <br />citizens of the County. <br />$.F PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION COMMEMORATING STEP UP <br />FLORIDA! <br />Miranda Swanson, Administrator of the Health Department, and Director Cliff <br />Crawford and Assistant Director Mike Redstone, of the Recreation Department, were on hand <br />to receive the Proclamation, which was read by Chairman Bowden. Miranda Swanson <br />discussed the background of Step Up, Florida!, which purpose is to promote healthy lifestyles <br />and decrease obesity throughout the State.
