PUBLIC HEARING — RESOLUTION NO. 2005-022 — FIRST <br />BAPTIST CHURCH OF WABASSO — ABANDONMENT OF A <br />PORTION OF 48TH AVENUE BETWEEN 86TH STREET AND <br />87TH STREET - LEGISLATIVE <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Planning Director Stan Boling reviewed the memorandum using a drawing on page <br />345 in the backup to illustrate his presentation. He noted that the traffic circulation is good. Staff <br />recommended this abandonment but also recommended retention of an easement over the <br />right-of-way. <br />Commissioner Wheeler questioned whether access to the back of the buildings had <br />been investigated by emergency and law enforcement staff, and Director Boling gave assurances <br />that the plan had been approved by life -safety staff during the site plan process. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing. <br />Eric Pollard, 6153 98h Place, a First Baptist Church member, read a short <br />presentation advising that the abandonment was requested for safety purposes as well as a concern <br />for loitering. <br />The Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />February 15, 2005 14 <br />
