IN OUR COUNTY, APPROXIMATELY 65, AND NOTED THAT 60 ARE OVER CANALS, <br />AND ARE COMPRISED OF TIMBER, STEEL AND CONCRETE. HE REPORTED THAT ON <br />THREE BRIDGES THEY WILL NEED THE ENGINEER TO GO UNDERWATER TO MAKE THE <br />INSPECTION. MR. BERTOSSA SAID THAT RIGHT NOW THE WATER IS 2' DEEP BUT <br />WITH RAIN, IT COULD REACH 10'; AND HE MENTIONED THAT THEIR PERSONNEL <br />ARE TRAINED IN ALLIGATOR CONTROL. MR. BERTOSSA EXPLAINED THAT THEY <br />HAVE PEOPLE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME TO DO THE WORK, HE NOTED THAT IT <br />IS NOT A DIFFICULT JOB AND COULD BE DONE VERY ECONOMICALLY AND QUICKLY; <br />AND IT IS AN ESSENTIAL JOB THAT MUST,BE DONE ON A CONTINUING BASIS. <br />MR. BERTOSSA REPORTED THAT THEY ARE PRESENTLY WORKING WITH FBOT ON THE <br />SUNSHINE SKYWAY BRIDGE IN TAMPA; ALSO THEY ANNUALLY INSPECT BRIDGES <br />ON THE BEE LINE HIGHWAY. HE EXPLAINED THEY WOULD SIMPLY DO THE INVENTORY, <br />THE RATING, RECOMMEND WHAT SHOULD BE DONE, AND GIVE AN ESTIMATE OF THE <br />COST. MR. BERTOSSA STATED THAT TOM BRESSANI WOULD PERFORM THE INSPEC- <br />TION AND THEIR CHIEF DIVER, BOB CRAWFORD, WOULD MAKE UNDERWATER INSPEC- <br />TIONS. HE THEN SHOWED A STRUCTURAL INSPECTION SUMMARY BOOKLET TO THE <br />BOARD, WHICH WAS A SAMPLE•STUDY OF PASCO COUNTY; WHICH CONTAINED THE <br />NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR THIS TYPE PROGRAM. MR. BERTOSSA REPORTED.THEY <br />COULD MEET WHATEVER TIME SCHEDULE THE COUNTY HAD. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INTERJECTED THAT THE COUNTY NEEDED TO START <br />THIS PROGRAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS AGREED THAT SINCE WE ARE BEHIND SCHED- <br />ULE, WE WOULD LIKE TO WORK OUT THE EARLIEST SCHEDULE POSSIBLE. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE ASKED WHAT WOULD BE A REASONABLE TIME FOR <br />COMPLETION OF THE JOB, <br />TOM BRESSANI STATED THAT, ALLOWING FOR RAIN, ABOUT 30 DAYS. <br />MR, BERTOSSA INTERJECTED THAT IT WOULD TAKE ANOTHER 30 DAYS <br />TO COMPLETE THE FORMS AND OTHER PAPER WORK AND FELT THAT IN 90 DAYS <br />TIME, THEY COULD PROVIDE THE COUNTY -THE NEEDED INFORMATION. HE CON- <br />TINUED THAT THEY COULD ADDRESS CERTAIN BRIDGES THAT HAD PROBLEMS,.AND <br />THEN DO AN INTERIM REPORT. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS INQUIRED ABOUT THE STARTING•TIME IF THIS <br />FIRM WAS AWARDED THE CONTRACT, AND MR.
