COMMISSIONER Loy INQUIRED IF THE FIRM HAS COMPLETED THIS <br />TYPE OF INSPECTION ELSEWHERE. <br />MR. BERTOSSA REPLIED THAT THEY DID THE CAPE CORAL HIGH LEVEL <br />BRIDGE AND THE SANIBEL BRIDGE, AND ARE PRESENTLY WORKING IN ORANGE <br />COUNTY. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS ASKED IF THE MAJORITY OF THEIR WORK WAS <br />ON CONCRETE BRIDGES. <br />MR. BERTOSSA ANSWERED THAT THEY HAVE INSPECTED ALL TYPES; <br />THEY HAVE DESIGNED OVER 3,000 BRIDGES.ALL OVER THE WORLD. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE ASKED IF THEY HIRE COMPANIES TO DO CERTAIN <br />WORK. <br />MR. BERTOSSA STATED THAT IF EPDXY PATCHING HAD TO BE DONE, <br />THERE ARE SEVERAL FIRMS IN FLORIDA WITH EXPERIENCE IN THAT FIELD, BUT <br />THEY WOULD RECOMMEND TO -THE COUNTY THE BEST JOB FOR PATCHING. HE CON- <br />TINUED THAT THEY WANT TO DESIGN A SAFE SYSTEM BUT THE MOST ECONOMICAL. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE THANKED MR. BERTOSSA FOR HIS PRESENTATION, <br />AND THEN CONTINUED ON TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED INTERVIEW. <br />ROBERT J. DLOUHY OF DLOUHY AND ASSOCIATES OF TAMPA, FLORIDA, <br />APPROACHED THE BOARD AND EXPLAINED THAT HE IS A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER <br />AND PROCEEDED TO PRESENT THE PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS OF THE FIRM. <br />MR. DLOUHY STATED THAT THE FIRM WAS DEVELOPED IN 1973 AS A GENERAL CIVIL <br />ENGINEERING FIRM AND NOW HAS A STAFF OF 12, INCLUDING 4 REGISTERED PES <br />WITH GOOD BACKGROUND IN CIVIL ENGINEERING. HE MENTIONED THAT FRED <br />HUGHES HAS 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE BUT IS NOT REGISTERED; MR. YOUNG HAS <br />A MASTERS DEGREE IN ENGINEERING AND WITH ANOTHER YEAR OF EXPERJENCE <br />WILL BE A PE; AND THAT MR. DLOUHY DOES THE UNDERWATER WORK THAT IS <br />NEEDED. MR. DLOUHY.EXPLAINED THAT THEY ARE PRE -QUALIFIED WITH THE <br />FDOT IN ALL OF THEIR CAT-EGORIES.. HE THEN NAMED THE FIRMS PAST EXPE- <br />RIENCES: CITY OF TAMPA - 32 BRIDGES;.ST. PETERSBURG - 20 BRIDGES; <br />HILLSBORO COUNTY - 70 BRIDGES; HAMILTON COUNTY - 41 BRIDGES; ALACHUA <br />COUNTY - 22 BRIDGES; AND PINELLAS COUNTY - 4 BRIDGES. ADDITIONAL <br />CLIENTS ARE: SHELL OIL, EASTERN TERMINALS, ST. PETERSBURG MUNICIPAL <br />PIER, ST. PETERSBURG WHARF, EXXON CORPORATION, TAMPA DRY DOCKS, AND <br />THE NAVAL STATION IN PENSACOLA, FLORIDA. MR.
