Chuck Mechling, 1999 Pointe West Drive, commented that this is a County <br />initiated matter, and urged the Commissioners to proceed with this investment. He <br />introduced Wayne Klinesdiver who gave a PowerPoint Presentation (copy on file) to <br />illustrate how one community (Pointe West) contributes to the overall economic impact in <br />Indian River County. <br />(Clerk's Note: Chairman Wheeler called for a recess at 10:34 a.m. and he reconvened the <br />meeting at 10:43 a.m. with all members present except Commissioner Davis, <br />who rejoined the meeting at 10:46 a.m.) <br />The following two speakers opposed the project: <br />Bob Johnson, Coral Winds Subdivision, who wanted road improvements to the <br />east -west corridors, rather than the continuation of traffic moving north -south. <br />Rene Renzi, Waverly Place, cited the hazardous driving conditions which may <br />occur with road projects. She suggested the Board contact Tallahassee about getting I-95 <br />access at Oslo Road, rather than SR60. <br />There were no additional speakers, and the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />Discussion ensued among the Commissioners regarding the re -payment schedule, and <br />reducing the initial cost of the project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner O'Bryan, SECONDED by <br />Chairman Wheeler, the Board, by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Flescher opposed), adopted Ordinance <br />March 13, 2007 19 <br />
