<br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Neuberger saw no problem with the 2-story interspersed on the <br />larger interior lots, but not on exterior lots. He thought 20% would be too much. <br />Commissioner Wheeler thought a small percentage of the interior lots would be <br />okay. <br />Commissioner Bowden pointed out the builder agreed at P & Z to keep the homes <br />1-story, she preferred to do that because of its unique area and go with the recommendation. <br />Mr. Bittle <br /> advised that the developer had 2-story homes but would agree to 1-story <br />if the Commissioners preferred. <br />Gene Lacerte <br />, 9551 Highway 78, West Okeechobee FL, the developer, would like <br />to be able to have 50% 2-story on the interior lots because it breaks the monotony, increases the <br />price, and would allow a larger home, but he would take whatever he can get. <br />A brief discussion ensued on the pros and cons of allowing or not allowing 2-story <br />houses on any lots. <br />Ms. Keys <br /> recounted some of the discussion from the P & Z meeting and advised the <br />builder had no problem with restricting to 1-story and she was surprised to see it come up at this <br />Board meeting. <br /> <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. (The Board granted PD special <br />exception use approval for “Winter Beach Village” with the <br />conditions as follows: 1) All houses in Winter Beach <br />Village shall be 1-story only. 2) All interior lots shall be at <br />least 9,000 square feet in area with a minimum side setback <br />of 10 feet. 3) A minimum of two canopy trees shall be <br />provided on each lot. 4) Two water and sewer stub-outs <br />shall be provided to Winter Grove subdivision. 5) Prior to <br />issuance of a land development permit, the applicant shall: <br />a) Obtain planning staff approval of detailed, final <br />March 15, 2005 29 <br /> <br />
