V •D \ �t Ito C21 44 <br />• - / � 4�t,.. <br />AN AGREEMENT FOR THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY STUDY - <br />AN ANALYSIS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SPOIL ISLANDS <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this, the day of <br />197 by and between the Department of Environ- <br />mental Regulation, a component agency of the State of Florida <br />(hereinafter referred to as the DEPARTMENT) and Indian River <br />County (hereinafter referred to as the COUNTY) witnesseth; <br />THIS AGREEMENT IS ENTERED INTO BASED ON THE FOLLOWING FACTS: <br />WHEREAS, it is in the state and national interest to <br />protect and maintain our natural resources; and <br />WHEREAS, state policies for management of the coastal <br />zone of Florida should,to the maximum extent possible, be im- <br />plemented by local governments; and <br />WHEREAS, significant development limitations exist on <br />spoil islands; and <br />WHEREAS, this project will formulate a plan for the <br />optimal use of spoil islands; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and <br />the mutual covenants herein contained, and .for other good and <br />valuable consideration, the DEPARTkENT agrees to employ the <br />COUNTY and the COUNTY agrees to perform all work described here- <br />in, or hereinafter authorized, upon the terms and conditions - <br />stated. <br />SECTION I. <br />SCOPE OF THE PROJECT <br />A., Project Objective. <br />This project is intended to develop a program for the <br />management and protection of the spoil islands located in <br />Indian River County. <br />B. Responsibilities of the COUNTY <br />The COUNTY has overall responsibility, for coord hiati.on <br />and completion of this project.
