-3 - <br />Task 3: Development of Management Program <br />A management program .for the spoil islands will be <br />developed. This program will include the following <br />elements: <br />A. Location of areas to be closed to public use and <br />methods of reserving environmentally sensitive lands. <br />B. Location of areas suitable for replanting and recom- <br />mendation of species to be removed and species to be <br />included in island revegetation. <br />C. Location of all development areas including specific <br />uses for each area. <br />D. Approximate costs of all proposals and evaluation <br />of possible methods of funding. <br />E. Management techniques to be used in implementing the <br />plans .including proposals for policing the spoil <br />islands area. <br />Task 4: Project Coordination <br />The COUNTY will closely coordinate this project with <br />interested local, state, regional, and federal groups and <br />agencies including the: County Forester, District Con- <br />servationist (S.C.S.), Game and Freshwater Fish Commission, <br />U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Corps of Engineers, Florida <br />Inland Navigation District, Department of Environmental <br />Regulation, Department of Natural Resources, Pelican Island <br />Audubon Society, local fishing groups, State Entomology <br />Research Laboratory, Indian River Marine Island Advisory <br />Commission, and the County Health Department. This coordina- <br />tion should consist of both requesting technical assistance <br />from these agencies as well as providing them with the <br />opportunity to comment on the work products. <br />Task 5: Development of Final Report <br />A written report will be developed for submittal to <br />the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River Count.y <br />and the Florida Department of Environmental Re:;ulation.. <br />This report will consist of 1) a' summary of the rationale <br />JUL 18 1979 BOOKAl FACE204 <br />
