He then introduced Kurt Gehring, from the Gehring Group (the Broker of <br />Record for the City of Vero Beach), and Ray Tomlinson and John Watson of the Crowne <br />Consulting Group (the County's Agent of Record for its health plan), who would be presenting <br />analysis on the proposed health center. <br />Kurt Gehring, President of the Gehring Group, noted that in order to control <br />escalating health care costs, many municipalities were implementing an employee health center. <br />He reported that the City Council of Vero Beach had selected CareHere as the top health care <br />provider for its proposed employee health center. He used a PowerPoint Presentation (copy on <br />file) to illustrate the benefits which would be experienced by the City of Vero Beach, including <br />projected savings over the next three years, and to describe the services which would be <br />available to the employees who choose to utilize the health center. He thereafter divulged that <br />the City had requested that the Gehring Group explore the County's interest in joining with them <br />in the implementation of the health center. <br />Director Sexton noted that extended service hours, more services, and shared costs <br />would be effected by having both governments combine resources in the implementation of an <br />employee health center. <br />Ray Tomlinson, Crowne Consulting Group, provided background information on <br />Crowne Consulting and on CareHere. He reviewed a PowerPoint Presentation (copy on file) to <br />outline the financial and other benefits which the City of Port St. Lucie and its employees have <br />derived from instituting its CareHere employee health center in 2007. <br />John Watson, Crowne Consulting Group, continued Mr. Tomlinson's PowerPoint <br />Presentation to detail additional benefits which would be realized by utilizing an off-site health <br />center, which included reduced prescription drug costs; and health risk assessment and disease <br />management programs.
